boredness...

Sun Jun 7, 2009, 11:18 AM
75 pages. I'm definitely not writing as fast as last weekend, since I've only written 6 pages after that big leap, but it's still going. My problem now is that I sort of know what to write, I just don't quite know how certain things are going to happen. My characters are the only things carrying the story at this particular moment, because it is quite a major, but focused plot point. It's not exactly that there have been subplots, but I've kept my characters far apart so that different scenes are about different characters. There has been one, and now there is another, scene where the characters come together briefly. They're both major plot points, and in them, nothing else is important. All the important stuff is part of the plot point anyway.

The point is, it's hard to write at the moment. I dunno if you can understand that last paragraph since I'm not entirely sure what's going on, either.

My uncle is here from Boston, and I haven't seen him since I was basically a toddler and he was just getting out of college. Wait... if he's my mom's half-brother, does that mean he's my half-uncle?

My parents just decided to take him on a tour of our town. They left. Now I'm bored.

I could write, but I feel like distracting myself for a little while.

I'm going to find 3-syllable words for each letter of the alphabet. And they're going to be less common words. Words that most teenagers don't use frequently. And I will not cheat: I will not use any dictionary or online word finder. I will use my brain alone.

a. amorous
b. banister
c. catapult
d. didactic
e. epigraph
f. filigree
g. gallantry
h. hyacinth
i. invective
j. jugular
k. kinetic
l. languidly
m. marginal
n. nautical
o. orifice
p. punctual
q. quizzical
r. rupturing
s. sardonic
t. taciturn
u. uttermost
v. voracious
w. wantingly
x. xenolith
y. yodeling
z. zionist

Some of them were really hard and I had to settle for more common words like kinetic, wantingly, and yodeling. :(
